Vision
St Martin de Porres Catholic Primary School is a wonderfully diverse community made up of children and families from a wide range of cultures and faiths. Our mission is to ensure all of the children who come to our school reach their full potential in a community which recognises the centrality of Christ as our guide and inspiration.
Our Mission
Working together in the light of the Lord.
‘How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in Unity’ Psalm 133.
Our Vision
At St Martin de Porres we believe we walk by faith, not by sight. Our faith gives us hope even when things are difficult. We cherish our school community as a place where love can flourish regardless of ability, gender, race, age or creed because every child is made in the image of God.
Our vision and values are at the centre of everything we do, creating an environment where each member of the community is equally deserving of compassion and respect.
We nourish our children and staff to grow in the virtues that underpin our Mission Statement:
Faith: We walk by faith, not by sight.
‘Oh God put a steadfast spirit within me’ Psalm 50
Compassion: to have a deep awareness of others suffering.
‘You should love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is you shall love your neighbour as yourself’ Matthew 22:31-39
Love of learning: We are excited and enthusiastic to learn.
‘Let the wise hear and increase in learning and the one who understands obtain guidance.’ Proverbs 15
Community: Connects us to one another.
‘We, who are many, are one body in Christ.’ Romans 12:5
Respect: We value and highly regard each other.
‘And as he wished the others were do to you, do so to them.’ Luke 6:31
Service: to use our gifts, to serve. By serving others, we share God's love.
‘Each of you should use the gifts God has given you to serve others.’ Peter 4:10
